Meet 2012 Union Mine High School graduate, Amanda

Amanda worked hard during her senior year and graduated early to begin Cosmetology school this past January.

Her ultimate goal is to continue her education in Cosmetology and one day, own her own salon.

Amanda’s best friend, Kaylie came too!

By happenstance they met online playing a game and after months of speaking over the phone and Skyping they decided to meet in person.

“At the end of our trip we both knew that God was working out something incredible between the two of us.  We left knowing that we had a hard road of long distance between us, but that in the end it would be completely worth it.” 

            Scott and Kim love to camp!

Their honeymoon, 3.5 week camping-road trip, has already been planned.

So, it was only appropriate to photograph a camping-engagement session with the two of them!

What is a perfect day together look like?

 “Loading up the car with camping gear, grabbing a coffee and hitting the road! All while listening to some country music, of course.

We are quite adventurous and we love seeing where the road will take us.”

Scott, what do you LOVE about Kim?

 “I love how caring she is not only to me but to everyone around her. I also love the way she makes me feel when I’m with her or away from her. Also she really does make me a better person.”

Kim, what do you LOVE about Scott?

 “I love Scott’s heart.  He always strives to do the right thing, and be everything to everyone in his life.  I love the way Scott cares for me, and the way he tells me he is proud of me every single day. I love that he is a man of God, and that he brings out the best in both of us.  I honestly couldn’t imagine myself spending the rest of my life with anyone else.”

What are you both looking forward to the most during the celebration of your wedding?

 “We are looking forward to never having to say goodbye for long periods of time again.  The long distance will finally be over and we are very much celebrating that!  We are excited to have both our families share in this with us.  We are so incredibly blessed with caring, supportive families… we know we couldn’t have made it with out them.”

Scott and Kim, I have to say that your engagement session was an absolute blast! Loved brainstorming with you both on the camping theme. I’m looking forward to getting to know you even better over the next few months and photographing your wedding in July! Blessings.

A few weeks ago I photographed 40 preschoolers at a local school. We were blessed with beautiful weather and cute-happy smiling kiddos! Here are a few of those bright and shiny faces!

I first met Amanda last year. I the wedding photographer, her the wedding hair/make-up artist.  From there, I knew she was a fabulous person! And now this fabuloso girlie and her husband Doug are having their FIRST baby girl, sweet Lulu.

Our family then encircled us and blessed our marriage with sweet words of wisdom, love and prayers.

We tied our vows and the heartfelt prayer my second Daddy had written to a piece of drift wood and tossed it into the ocean.

My gorgeous sister, Amber sang a beautiful Hawaiian prayer…

Our ceremony and photos were taken on Waialea Bay Beach by the talented Tahiti of Tahiti Huetter Photography.

I am blessed… I do know this.

What an amazing celebration it was to renew our vows. I am so proud to share my family and the love that Kurt and I have together with you.

and I have to say it was one of the best vacations we have ever had!

It was definitely hard to come home.

We are extremely blessed to have family on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Our cousins took us on a gorgeous hike into Pololu Valley and we played on it’s black sand beach.

After staying in Kona for a few days we travelled to the Pahoa region. On the way we visited Honaunau Place of Refuge, Saint Benedict’s Painted Church and Ka Lae South Point (southernmost spot in the United States).

Lava flow at night with Venus and Jupiter

Little fun facts: This flow was 4 miles away from where we were standing. Those small dots are “port holes” in the lava tube which are 20-80 feet across. The smoke you see are plants and trees burning up in it’s path. This lava moves 50 feet an hour… slooow flowing lava.

Yup, that’s me below and Kurt far off in the distance! This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Thank you to Lisa for putting this all together and for the photos. Swimming with this pod of wild dolphins was so peaceful and awe inspiring.  Amazing!  These beautiful creatures are mesmerizing.
