Devin and Alicia | Timber Creek Ballroom Wedding Photographer
It was the Monday after Valentine’s Day and Alicia had no idea where they were going. She was given instructions to dress fancy but bring flats. “The GPS gave away the destination…sort of. I knew we were going to Old Town Sac. Once we arrived, Devin said we had about an hour until dinner, so he wanted to walk by the water for a while. We walked and walked…I asked where we were going. Devin said, “This is a good spot”. I answered, “For what?” He pulled his phone out of his pocket and started reading a poem he wrote. I figured it was a romantic, delayed Valentine’s poem. The final lines were (here he got down on one knee) “I want you by my side for the rest of my life. Alicia, will you be my wife? Will you marry me?” I waited a few seconds to think through the way I would answer, (I pretty much knew my answer) I said, “Devin, yes.”
He put the ring on my finger, and we walked until our dinner reservation at The Firehouse. “
Devin, what do you LOVE about Alicia?
“Her smile, her eyes, her care of children, her connection with family, she is a hard worker (sometimes too much), her gentle touch on my shoulders and hair, her thinking things through and helping me learn.”
Alicia, what do you LOVE about Devin?
“His way with words (he writes beautiful poetry), his beautiful blue eyes (one has brown flecks which makes it look green from further away), his dedication to God, the way he prays before dates, dinner, and discussions, the way he encourages me and anticipates my needs, the way he sacrifices fun to help me with work or wedding planning, his sense of humor, his interest in music lyrics and his ability to create the perfect sound mix for worship team.”
Devin and Alicia, we wish you both much love, happiness and joy!
