Michelle and Matt | Sacramento Engagement Photographer | High Hand Nursery

The idea of an engagement session in a plant nursery had been brewing in my mind for months. The thought of photographing in a green house and walking among all the different plants sounded visually fantastic. So when rain was in our forecast for Michelle and Matt’s engagement session and I expressed my thoughts to them they absolutely LOVED the idea… and what a blast we had traipsing through High Hand Nursery, creating beautiful memories.

Matt and Michelle had only been dating for a few months when they decided to go hiking in Lake Tahoe. Matt wanted to tell Michelle that he was in love with her when they reached to top of the mountain but his nerves got the best of him.

Fast forward six years…

The proposal: In 2009, the day before Thanksgiving Michelle flew into Reno to spend the holiday with Matt and family. As he picked Michelle up from the airport he explained that their day would be full of surprises. First, they drove to Truckee to eat at their favorite breakfast place, then onto Squaw Valley. After a Gondola ride to high camp, that overlooked Lake Tahoe, Matt knelt in front of Michelle and said, “Michelle, I never had the chance to tell you that I loved you on top of a mountain, so I’m telling you now… Michelle, I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?”

Do you LOVE that nursery or what? That’s one of our favorite date-spots.
