Preston and Amanda | Citizen Hotel Wedding Photographer

Preston and Amanda | Citizen Hotel, Sacramento

They worked in the same building and for weeks Preston and Amanda would pass by one another, coming and going from lunch. “I started seeing Amanda on a daily basis walking with her co-workers – not to mention actually getting to ride in the elevator with her a couple times (some short and awkward rides),” said Preston.

Preston desperately wanted to meet her! Being the persistent person that he is, and despite Amanda dating someone at the time, Preston made friends with her co-workers so he would have an excuse to “bump” into Amanda. Finally one day, later in the afternoon after the lunch crowd died down, Amanda was on her way back from her break and Preston was headed to lunch.

It was just the two of them.

It was then that Preston asked her point blank if there was any way they could get a drink, strictly as friends, no more, no less. And Amanda’s reply was, “I’m always up for meeting new people”.

Well, the rest is history.

Preston, what do you love about Amanda?

“Amanda takes things VERY seriously – meaning when she takes something on, she put her heart and soul into it. No such thing as “Whatever”. Two examples: our dogs and baking. I have never met anyone who cares more for a couple of dogs than Amanda. She literally mothers them. That makes me very happy and proud. The amount of care and concern is spectacular – I know she’ll make an excellent mother.

Baking on the other hand… Amanda is a great baker, but she follows each recipe to the “T”. Literally if the recipe calls for a tablespoon of baking soda, it’s going to have the most accurate measure of baking soda EVER, down to the individual granules of powder.  When she’s done making something – there are 15 different measuring spoons in the sink – because one should never mix ingredients.”

LOVE this one below. I have to say this was a first for me!

Amanda, what do you LOVE about Preston?

“There are so many great little things that make up my Island boy but the one thing that always sticks out in my mind is his sense of humor. Preston can make me laugh no matter what (which can be very frustrating at times, especially if I am trying to be mad at him). There isn’t a day that goes by where I am not chuckling at something he said or did. I have no idea where he comes up with half the stuff he says but it cracks me up! I am a big fan of people who can make me laugh and are witty and Preston has no shortage of either of those.

I would also have to say that Preston is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. He mentioned to me when we first got together that people would tell him he could “make friends with a stick.” Well that has proven to be very true. I joke with him all the time and tell him he is such a Chatty Kathy but the truth is he is genuinely nice to everyone he meets. That is probably why my mom’s older friends think he is just the BEST, he takes the time to talk with them and listen to their stories. It’s so great being with someone who has a kind heart.”

Tucker and Tilly!

Intense dancing…

Preston and Amanda, we had such a wonderful time photographing your day. Princess Dolores, you looked radiant and Charles, handsome as ever 😉
