A Smooth Flow to Your Special Day
Memorable weddings don’t just happen.
They take a bit of organization.
To ensure a smooth flow of beautifully captured memories of your day, a timeline of wedding events will help guide your planning.
Getting Ready: The Two of You – 2.5 to 3 hours
This includes your immediate family, bride, bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen formals. Plan for some additional time for photos at the salon and if you’re planning a first look.
The Wedding Ceremony – 15 minutes to 1.5 hours
The length of your ceremony may vary widely. Afterward, allow more time for formal for formal portraits (if planned) to let your guest leave the church or venue, if they are traveling to a different location.
Formal Group and Family Portraits – 30 minutes to 1.0 hourĀ
Formal portrait timing can vary widely depending on group size and family/group combinations. Get that posed list down to your must haves so that we can breeze through them quickly. To calculate, factor 3-4 minutes per every pose.
Wedding Party and The Newlywed Couple – 1.0 to 2.0 hours
Timing can depend largely on the venue, size of the bridal party and variety of poses.
Your Reception – 3.0 to 6.0 hours
Your reception starts when you are formally announced. Then it normally flow into dinner, toasts, first dance, cutting the cake, open dancing etc, all of this is candid photography. We love capturing all the true emotion as your reception plays out. We can stay as long as you need us, (but if there’s drinking, no one wants blackmail photos) so we normally photograph until your last planned event is completed.
Remember, your wedding day is unique, and planning together ensures you don’t miss a minute of this special time in your lives.
When you first meet with Mariea Rummel Photography we will put together a photography timeline together tailor specifically for you and your amazing wedding.
