“I had just graduated college and was planning to move to San Francisco. I had responded to a Craigslist ad for 2 females and 1 male looking for a new roommate in the Marina neighborhood. I FaceTimed the 3 roommates for a virtual tour of the apartment and remember thinking the male roommate was good-looking. A few days later I went to see the apartment in person. I took my sister with me and told her before we went inside that I thought the male roommate was cute, but it would obviously never go anywhere since we were going to be roommates. I moved in a few weeks later. One Friday, Allen and I were both working from home and he suggested we go on a local hike together. The next thing I knew, I was on a beach watching the sunset with a bottle of wine realizing I was on a date. The rest is history!” -Monique

“Allen proposed on October 31, 2020. It was our 4 year anniversary (and Monique’s favorite holiday!) and Allen took Monique to the Marin Headlands beach where we had our very first date. We got there just as the sun was setting. Monique was putting down a towel to sit on when she saw Allen in the corner of her eye down on one knee. Allen had heard earlier that day that the ring was ready and decided last minute to propose a few hours later since the date was special to us.”
